Thiruvananthapuram corporation completes construction of 1000 houses under PMAY

Picture for representational purpose onlyTHIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city municipal corporation has become the first civic body in the state to complete construction of 1000 houses under PMAY. The corporation has a total of 9027 beneficiaries under PMAY-LIFE scheme of which 1030 beneficiaries have completed houses.
The corporation has prepared 6 DPRs for PMAY. The project has been executed at a cost of Rs 361 crores. The corporation has received the central and state share of Rs 49.47 crores and corporation has allotted Rs 51.13 crores. An amount of Rs 97.6 crores has been spent under the scheme.
The corporation authorities said that all beneficiaries would be given houses within a year.
The civic body also gives Rs 24,390 as financial assistance by including PMAY-LIFE beneficiaries in Ayyankali employee guarantee scheme.
