The engineer, Rishabh Mandal, is a resident of Delhi’s Pandav Nagar area. In a complaint filed with the Sector 24 police, Mandal said that he had visited Ghaziabad on Friday evening. While returning, when he reached Noida City Centre metro station around 9pm, a person came running towards Mandal and informed him that his sister had met with an accident and he needed help. Believing the person, Mandal decided to accompany him to help the victim.
However, the person took him to a deserted location, where three more men surrounded him at gunpoint.
“They held me at gunpoint and snatched my debit card, mobile phone and wrist watch. I did not have enough money in my bank account. So, they forced me to contact my family members and asked them to deposit Rs 30,000 in my account. The criminals then took me to an ATM and withdrew Rs 28,000 and fled,” said Mandal.
Mithlesh Upadhaya, SHO of Sector 24 police station, said a case of robbery has been registered against the four accused.
