Six fraudsters dupe Mumbai kitchenware firm of Rs 48L
tnn | Jan 29, 2019, 04:00 ISTRajkot: A Mumbai-based kitchenware manufacturing company on Monday lodged a cheating complaint against six fraudsters, who had allegedly siphoned off aluminum and steal kitchenware worth Rs 47.79 lakh.
According to the complaint lodged by Abhaykumarsinh Omprakashsinh, a representative of Spark Engineering Pvt Ltd from Mira Road (East) in Mumbai, Pankaj Patel from Rajkot, Ashish Dadhania and Nilesh Chauhan from Gondal, and Abhijitsinh Jadeja, Raju and Sandip Rathod from Jamnagar, had allegedly committed the fraud.
According to police, the accused had allegedly floated a bogus firm Supreme Bill Call and rented an office at Saibaba Complex on Kalawad Road and a godown in Navagam locality of Rajkot. They contacted Spark Engineering Pvt Ltd and informed its management that they had obtained a major contract from the Jamnagar base of Indian Air Force to supply kitchenware.
“The accused then availed the supply of kitchenware, worth Rs 47.79 lakh, from September 2018 to November 2018, from the Mumbai-based company. Then, instead of making the payment, they downed their company’s shutters overnight and vanished. When the company realized the fraud, it lodged the complaint,” said C B Jadeja, assistant sub-inspector of Rajkot special operation group.
Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt for the accused.
