Court extends PC, Karti arrest protection
TNN | Jan 29, 2019, 00:09 ISTNEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Monday extended till February 18 the interim protection from arrest granted to former Union minister P Chidambaram and his son, Karti, in the Aircel-Maxis scam.
Special CBI judge O P Saini extended the relief to Chidambaram noting that he would not be available on February 1 for which the matter was listed.
The case relates to alleged irregularities in grant of Foreign Investment Promotion Board approval in the Aircel-Maxis deal. On January 11, the CBI had informed the court that the Centre had granted sanction to prosecute five people, including serving and former bureaucrats, accused in the Aircel-Maxis case, as well as the Chidambarams
