Indore: City continued to reel under cold winds in the last leg of winter with maximum temperature plummeting to eight degrees below normal on Sunday. The cold winds blowing from north pulled down the night temperature too, which was three degrees below normal, making it the coldest day of the season and coldest night of the year. City recorded maximum temperature of 19.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday while the night temperature was 7.2 degrees Celsius. The morning and evening humidity was 72 percent and 30 percent respectively.
Regional meteorological department officials said the change in weather is due to western disturbance in northern part of the country. The temperature dropped due to cold winds coming from north-east. The temperature will remain same for next couple of days. Chances of fog in next couple of days are negligible. “Heavy snowfall took place in northern parts of the country while northern MP received hailstorm due to which temperature fell,” a met official said.
