ROHTAK: Five months after the Indian Air Force online exam cheating case came to light, the local police on Sunday arrested the owner of a computer centre, which was made a centre for Air Force Group X and Y entrance exam last year.


The accused is identified as Sanjay Ahlawat, who was arrested from Meham in Rohtak.


CIA-3 wing in-charge, inspector Lalit Kumar, said that the accused, Ahlawat, a resident of Bahalba village, owned the computer centre where the use of unfair means was detected by an Air Force vigilance team.


A cash reward of Rs 1 lakh had been announced for the arrest of Ahlawat, he said, adding that the accused was produced before a local court, which remanded him in police custody for two days.


Six persons have earlier been arrested in connection with the case, while Sahil, a resident of Burari, Delhi, is still at large.


The incident dates back to September 15, 2017, when the vigilance wing of IAF had exposed the cheating racket, wherein the team of Jitender Siwach had gained access to the computers of candidates who had appeared in categories X and Y of the written examination.
