Nic underwent rounds of chemotherapy, with him admitting women don't always have the best reaction to it on their dates.

'I've had a few really, like, weird and a bit rude and uncomfortable situations – you could see they were a bit like cringey and a bit weird' he told the publication.

The electrician continued: 'They make you feel a bit dirty. You don't want those people in your life anyway, if they're like that.'

Ahead of Monday night's premiere, Nic said he was looking for earthy traits in a woman that would 'love him unconditionally.'

He said: '[I want] someone who will have my back, who makes me laugh, who makes me smile and who will love me unconditionally.'

He added he will always do right by a partner who will do right by him.

Nic revealed that his bout with testicular cancer was one of the reasons he decided to apply for the show, in an interview with The Newcastle Herald on Sunday.

'It made me question where my life's at and what I want to do,' he said.

He went on to say that after travelling and experiencing life, he found himself in a good stage in his life and thought: 'why not?'

Previously Nic has revealed his mother and grandmother were forced to raise him after his father walked out.

He also revealed he suffered from body issues as a teenager in an NW interview.

'I was coming home and crying to Mum, telling her. But I probably put on a pretty brave face at school when it was all happening,' he said.
