
IAF fighter plane crashes in UP
An Indian Air Force Jaguar fighter plane crashed in Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar, approximately 300 kilometres from the state capital Lucknow on Monday. The incident was reported from Hetimpir area, soon after the plane took off on a routine mission from the Gorakhpur Air Force base. The aircraft burst into flames after it fell to the ground.
The pilot of the aircraft however, managed to eject safely with the help of a parachute.
According to the Indian Air Force officials, information about technical snag was received from the pilot minutes before the incident. Police and IAF officials reached the site of the crash soon after the incident and the rescue teams were contacted.

A court of inquiry has been ordered by the air headquarters to investigate the accident.
Commenting over the incident, the Indian Air Force on Monday said, "Today morning, a Jaguar aircraft while on a routine mission from Gorakhpur, crashed. Pilot ejected safely. A court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the accident."
Meanwhile, a periphery was created around the crashed aircraft and the area was cordoned to keep locals away from the accident spot.
This is the second Jaguar plane to have crashed in a year. An Indian Air Force aircraft had crashed in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat last year on October 5 after it had took off from the Hindan air base.
