The revolving door of Death In Paradise keeps on turning: after Ben Miller and Kris Marshall had their stints in the detective's sandals, Ardal O'Hanlon has taken the reins for the jolly murder mystery series that has remained hugely popular in the UK, probably due to the reassuring nostalgia of seeing a quirky white Brit solving crimes in an exotic locale. Slightly less exotic is the Cotswolds setting of Agatha Raisin, but the formula is similar: murder and whimsy in the great tradition of cosy English whodunnit.
