Gurgaon: The autopsy report of Babita, who’s body was found in a bed box in Sector 46’s Jal Vihar colony on Saturday, revealed that she was one-and-a-half-months pregnant and was strangled to death using a rope or cloth more than five days ago, according to doctors at the Civil hospital.

Despite several attempts, police are yet to nab the 40-year-old cab driver — Rajesh, who allegedly murdered his wife and hid her body in the bed box of his employer when he was out of station. Dinesh, the cab owner, discovered the body on Saturday and alerted the police.

According to the police, an FIR was registered under sections 302 (murder), 201 (hiding evidence) of the IPC at Sector 50 police station and a raid was conducted at Rajesh’s hometown in Rajasthan on Sunday but the accused was not found there. “His absence is in a way confirming his crime. We have put his phone on surveillance and are conducting raids to nab him soon,” said inspector Jai Bhagwan, the investigating officer. Rajesh, a resident of Behror in Rajasthan, had married Babita seven months ago after she parted ways with her first husband, with whom she had had five children.
