Two men charged over alleged Australia Day ATM theft

Two Canning Vale men were charged over an ATM theft incident in Roleystone on Australia Day.

Police said the men allegedly forced entry into an area behind an ATM in the shopping centre on Jarrah Road at 4.15am.

They tried to steal from the ATM before driving off.

Police apprehended them a short time later.

Regional investigations unit detectives are investigating if the men, aged 39 and 33, are linked to similar ATM thefts on Wanneroo Road, Westminister; UWA, Nedlands; Eddystone Avenue, Craigie; and Station Street, Subiaco.

The men, aged 39 and 33, have been charged with aggravated burglary with intent.

They will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday.
