NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Sunday arrested a 35-year-old woman and her boyfriend for killing the woman’s son who had objected to their relationship. The incident was reported from east Delhi’s Ashok Nagar.
The deceased, Ravinder, had an altercation with her mother’s boyfriend, Shariq, a couple of days ago after having spotted them together. A scuffle ensued during which Ravinder beat up Shariq. His mother, outraged over the fight, attacked her son with a big stone. Shariq also joined in and together they hit Ravinder on his face and head over two dozen times, police said.
As Ravinder lay in a pool of blood, the duo realised decided to dump him at a hospital. Claiming that Ravinder was sick, they called for an ambulance and asked him to drive to a hospital. However, seeing the blood, the ambulance driver suspected something amiss and informed the police.
Cops arrived at the scene and found Ravinder’s face smashed. They questioned the duo during which they confessed to crime. They were arrested under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
