Indore: United Christian Forum Indore organised ‘Pray for India’ devotional concert at St Paul School campus during the weekend. Devotees prayed for peace, harmony and brotherhood in the country. Performing artists from different parts of country including Pastor Subhash Gill, Pastor Paras Gill, and Pastor Shammy Hans were present. In his address to all community members, Bishop Chacko of Indore Diocese said every person born in the country first knows the land, survives on its natural resources and is safe because of its army. He talked about India as a country that accepts, celebrates and protects diversities. “It is our solidarity with all the freedom fighters and all those who serve our nation selflessly,” he said.
Bishop Manoj Charan from CNI Church also addressed the gathering. In his speech, he said, “Prayer unites us for better cause and so we are here on Republic Day to pray for our nation. We will do all that we can for the betterment and development of our country.”
Pastor Biju Paul said, “I am extremely happy that we have shown unity on our national feast day.” He said about 60 representatives of catholic, protestant churches and denominations from all over Indore gathered to pray for the wellbeing of all citizens of our great nation. “I believe that our coming together in big number shows our love and respect for country,” Paul said. Brother Abhishek Netram, in his welcome address, introduced lead artist Pastor Subhash Bill who came from London for the special concert. “Music comes from dedication, worship and love, which Bill has taught us,” he said. Fr Sumit Tahir gave vote of thanks. Concert concluded with national anthem.
