BHOPAL/ Gwalior: Women and child development minister in Kamal Nath cabinet faced embarrassing moments at the Republic Day function at SAF ground in Gwalior. Unable to read CM’s message, she asked the collector Bharat Yadav to read the message. Social media platforms were flooded with a tag ‘Aage collector saheb padhenge (collector will read the message).’ The higher secondary pass minister was the chief guest at the Republic Day programme in Gwalior. After unfurling the national flag, she came to dais to read CM Kamal Nath’s message to thousands of audience present at SAF ground in Gwalior.
Imarti Devi started reading the message, struggled with script, uttered few words and fumbled. Finding it difficult to read further, she forwarded the paper to collector, Bharat Yadav and said that ‘Aage collector sahab padhenge (collector will read the message further).’ The video of the incident went viral on social media platforms in no time where collector Bharat Yadav was seen coming to rescue of the minister. Later, minister Imarti Devi, replying to media persons said, ‘I was sick for the past two days, you can ask the doctor. But it is okay. The collector read it (the speech) properly’. She is a three-time MLA from Dabra reserved seat in Gwalior district, and this time, she has defeated her rival by a margin of 56,000 votes. According to traditions in MP, the minister who takes salute on the Independence Day and on the Republic Day reads out the chief minister’s message.
