'People will tune in!' Channel Seven will air TWO seasons of My Kitchen Rules this year in a bid to fend off ratings rivals at Nine and Ten
My Kitchen Rules fans are in for a treat this year, with Channel Seven confirming that they'll air two different seasons of the hit cooking competition this year.
The first, which is the show's tenth season, kicks off on Monday, while another version will hit screens towards the end of 2019.
While it's currently unknown whether the second installment will be a regular season or a special spin-off, Seven are confident that viewers are hungry for more MKR.

Two courses! My Kitchen Rules will air TWO seasons of the cooking competition this year
'I think after 10 years we have a trusted brand – a brand people will tune in to,' MKR's executive producer Joe Herdman told the Financial Review.
'A lot of things have been taken into account.'
Seven announced plans for two courses of My Kitchen Rules in 2019 last year, with the intent of strengthening the networks's schedule in the second half of the year against competition like Nine's The Block and Ten's Bachelor franchise.

Speaking to TV Tonight in October, Seven's Director of Network Programming, Angus Ross, said: 'At certain times of the year you only have certain options to go with to avoid what your competitors are doing.
'In the back half of the year Nine basically runs The Block for 5 months or so. So renovation isn’t the go. Ten runs dating shows in the back half.'
In addition to My Kitchen Rules, Seven will also air a new season of their reality TV dating series The Seven Year Switch, which has now been rebranded as The Super Switch.

Competition: MKR has recently lost out in the ratings to Channel Nine's Married At First Sight
While MKR has long been Seven's biggest show, the series lost its number one spot for the first time last year, losing out to Nine's Married At First Sight.
The network is hoping to claw back some viewers with a special tenth anniversary season of MKR, due to premiere on Monday.
The season will air half an hour earlier at 7pm in a bid to get a head start over rival MAFS, which premieres at 7:30pm on Nine.
