A has man died after his car hit a building in Welshpool on Saturday night.

Major crash officers are investigating the crash on McDowell Street.

About 6.30pm a silver Ford Falcon sedan was travelling along Sheffield Street towards McDowell Street before colliding with an industrial building.

The driver, a man believed to be 26 years old, suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.

Major crash investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw, or has dashcam vision of the Ford Falcon in the area prior to the crash.
