Haryana girls trounce UP in U-14 kabaddi final

Dharwad: Haryana emerged as the champions at the 64th National Under-14 Girls’ Kabaddi Tournament which concluded at the Police Grounds here on Sunday. They trounced Uttar Pradesh 48-19.

Haryana dominated all the departments right from the start and led 22-12 at half time. They went all out in the second half and improved their tally by scoring another 26 points. Unable to counter-attack, Uttar Pradesh scored just 7 points. Haryana had beaten Delhi 15-13 to enter the final.


For the third place, Delhi held their nerves to beat Chhattisgarh 27-16.


UP’s Simran Tiwari was adjudged the Best Raider, Delhi’s Manisha the Best Catcher and Haryana’s Jyoti the Best All-rounder trophy. Karnataka emerged as the Best Team of the tournament.


As many as 310 girls from 26 states participated in the tournament.
