The body of missing Perth man Brock Hewitt found in tragic end to search

The three-week search for a young WA army veteran has ended after his body was found north of Perth.

A WA Police spokeswoman confirmed officers had found a body, believed to be that of missing man Brock Hewitt, on Saturday.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

The tragic news comes after the 29-year-old went missing from his Butler home earlier this month.

He was last seen on January 7 on CCTV buying an esky and stubby holder at Boating Camping Fishing in Yanchep.

The young father had contacted his parents the day he was last seen to tell them he was going fishing in South Mole.

His family and friends were unable to get in contact with him later and alerted police that he had gone missing.

Mr Hewitt had suffered post-traumatic stress disorder following his service in Afghanistan for three years.
