A Millmerran man has died from his injuries in hospital after he was involved in a two-vehicle car crash in December, which claimed the life of a seven-year-old boy near Toowoomba.

Two trucks were travelling south on the Gore Highway at Pampas, about 65 kilometres south-west of Toowoomba, on December 27 when the incident occurred about 5.10pm.

Police said the Millmerran man had tried to turn onto Gilgai Lane when a second vehicle crashed into him from behind, causing him to sustain critical head injuries.

The second vehicle had overturned and caught fire due to the impact.
