Boy who went missing to escape test returns home

MOHALI: A 16-year-old boy, who had gone missing on January 21, returned to his house in Derabassi on Thursday. He had left his house to skip his Math test which was to be held on January 21. According to the police, the boy had gone to Mumbai in order to escape the test. Cops said that the 16-year-old found his test difficult and ran away from his house. He is studying in Class IX at a private school in Derabassi.
Police said that the boy went to school but never returned home. When he did not return, his parents contacted the school management to know his whereabouts but were later informed that the boy did not come to school. Regarding this, his parents lodged a complaint with the Mohali police and a case under Section 365 was registered at Derabassi police station. Police said that before leaving house the boy took Rs 1,000 from his parents and went to Ambala and boarded a train for Mumbai. After reaching Mumbai, he decided to return back home.
Mubarkpur police post in-charge, Kulwant Singh said the boy wanted to get rid of his test so he ran away. Therefore, he planned the entire episode. However, after reaching Mumbai he started missing his family and returned to his house on Thursday.
