I, John P. McDonald, Class of 1956, am writing this letter to all of Diman's school board members. Look into the mirror and ask yourself, "Am I doing the right thing by voting down Mr. Tom Aubin’s contract?"

I have met Aubin several times in the school tea room and at football games. Aubin was always ready to talk with me and my friends, always talking about the school and his plans to move the school ahead. He reminds me of one of the best teachers I ever had. That was a person named John P. Harrington, who was so dedicated to the school and its students. He was the person who pushed to relocate the school from Hartwell Street to its present location.

Aubin has the same frame of mind. He is the person who will take this school to its highest peak. I have lived in the city all of my life, and know all about the politics that goes on. I think there is some kind of power play going on.

Who do you board members, or should I say mayor, want to put in this position? I hope the next mayor will let the people of Fall River vote for the three board members representing the city.
