The YSRCP has lodged a complaint with Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gopala Krishna Dwivedi and DGP R.P. Thakur, accusing the TDP of indulging in electoral malpractices in the Cheepurupalli constituency in Vizianagaram district and at other places.

A delegation, led by Botcha Satyanarayana, handed over the tablets that had been confiscated from the surveyors to the DGP and the CEO on Friday.

The delegation also sought to know whether the survey was being conducted officially by the government, and asked them to verify the software loaded in the tablets.

‘Surveyors’ caught

Three ‘surveyors’ were caught by the YSRCP activists and handed over to the police while collecting data from the voters allegedly with an intention to delete the names of the YSRCP sympathisers, Mr. Satyanarayana alleged.

The surveyors were handed over to the Pusapatirega police, he said. Instead of taking action against them, the police detained five YSRCP workers in the police station for blowing the whistle, he charged. Referring to the Nellimarla incident, Mr. Satyanarayana said three persons, identified as employees of the Public Policy Research organisation, were hired by the TDP to carry out the “evil agenda.”

Alleging that the TDP was planning to delete the names of the voters identified as sympathisers and workers of the YSRCP in constituencies considered “critical” to the ruling party across the State, he urged the DGP and the CEO to take action against those behind the incident.
