THANJAVUR
Hundreds of candidates with B.Ed. and D.T.Ed. qualifications have started converging at the offices of the Chief Education Officers of Thanjavur and Tiruvarur districts to submit their applications for the temporary teacher posts as announced by the State government.
While the candidates in Tiruvarur district were able to submit their applications on Friday, the aspirants residing in Thanjavur district were made to wait till Saturday in view of the local holiday declared by the Thanjavur district administration in view of the Annual Thyagaraja Aradhana festival at Thiruvaiyaru on Friday.
The applicants were asked to drop the filled-in applications with the choice of the school they would like to get appointed, at the boxes placed at the CEO offices and were informed that they would soon be intimated about the action taken on their applications.
Inquiries reveal that nearly 500 applications have been received in Tiruvarur district and around 300 in Thanjavur district so far.
