Coimbatore: The fear of social activist ‘Traffic’ K R Ramasamy among the various political party cadres in the city was evident on Saturday as they rushed to remove the illegal banners put up in various parts of the city, where the former went on an inspection drive.

While AIADMK cadres were a little late, they still managed to remove the illegal flexes.

According to a source, Ramasamy was in the city to attend a function and he has been touring major junctions in the city to check for illegal flex banners. On Saturday, he visited Vadavalli and RS Puram and as the news spread by word of mouth, various political party cadres, who had erected flex banners, reached the spot and started to remove them.

“Before AIADMK members could reach Vadavalli, Ramasamy arrived at the junction. Nevertheless, AIADMK cadres managed to remove the flex banner, while Ramasamy removed the supporting wooden logs,” the source said.
