Indore: BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 was inaugurated by Mahindra and SAEINDIA in Pithampur on Thursday. The first day of Mahindra BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 began with an inauguration by the chief guest Arindham Lahiri, CEO, ASDC (Automotive Skill Development Council) and the special invitee Murli Iyer, Global Advisor, SAE International USA.
Commenting on the event, Arindham Lahiri said, “BAJA SAEINDIA is a unique platform for every young and aspiring engineer to showcase their talent. It is an event that helps to start the journey for a successful career in the industry. The students who participate in such an event will have an opportunity to build new teams, forge new network and learn continuously.”
Murli Iyer appreciated BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 event been conducted on such a large scale unlike the USA. He acknowledged the initiative of eBAJA, which is a unique platform conducted by SAEINDIA since 2015. Additionally, he declared that top five teams of BAJA SAEINDIA 2019 would get a lateral entry in BAJA SAE International events in the USA from the year 2020.
Dr N Karuppaiah gave a welcome address. Subject experts gave an encouraging address to gathering of over 4250 engineering college students. Buggies from mBAJA team of Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Engineering, Pune and eBAJA team of Nirma University, Ahmedabad were unveiled by the dignitaries.
On Wednesday, 776 third-year students and 832 fourth-year students underwent BAJA Aptitude Test, a preliminary qualifying round for HR Meet scheduled on January 28-29 at LNCT, Indore. The technical inspection was conducted on Wednesday in which 110 teams appeared for mBAJA and 25 teams appeared for eBAJA as on Thursday.
Others present were Pushp Kumar Nayyar of BPCL, Bipin Lokhande of ANSYS, Dr N Karuppaiah of NATRiP and Umesh Shah of Gabriel. On Friday, mBAJA and eBAJA design and technical evaluation will be conducted following which the event will be organised.
