2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe Will Be An Intriguing Prospect

The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe has been a long time coming and continues to progress through a stringent development and testing regime around the world. Shortly after a prototype was spied testing in Stuttgart, Germany, our spy photographers have snapped an example winter testing in the frozen north of Sweden.

As the vehicle’s name suggests, the major point of difference between it and the regular Cayenne will be the Coupe-like roofline. Additionally, Porsche has relocated the license plate slot to the center of the bumper and based on the camouflage of this prototype, it appears some modifications have also been made to the vehicle’s taillight design.

The 2020 Cayenne Coupe in question appears to be the potent Turbo variant, as evidenced by its quad tailpipes, large carbon ceramic brake discs, and yellow calipers. The SUV also includes a subtle spoiler stretching from the roof over the upper portion of the rear window. That’s in addition to the one-piece retractable spoiler hidden in the tailgate portion above the lights.

In all likelihood, the 2020 Cayenne Coupe Turbo will be offered with exactly the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 as the regular model. This means the SUV will get 550 hp and 567 lb-ft (768 Nm) of torque. A plethora of other Cayenne Coupe models will be sold.

One of these models will use Porsche’s twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 with 434 hp. It’s even possible that an all-conquering Cayenne Coupe Turbo S E-Hybrid could be produced, fitted with the same 680 hp powertrain as the range-topping Panamera.

The original Porsche Cayenne received it’s fair share of criticisms about its design, but fortunately, Porsche drastically improved the looks of the vehicle over the years and through its various iterations. If the current trends continue, the Cayenne Coupe could very well prove to be the best looking of the bunch.
