Politics is not a civil service where age bound retirement is known on the first day of appointment. But when Mr.Narendra Modi and Mr.Amit Shah took over the Government and Party they applied age criteria in party politics. Perhaps to trim Mr.LK Advani and Mr.Murli Manohar Joshi who are now in oblivion.
On side line Mrs.Nagma Heptullah and in Madhya Pradesh Mr.Babulal Gaur and Sardar Sartaj Singh were asked to step down from the Ministry on age ground. There were clear indication that Mr.Gaur and Mr.Sartaj Singh would not be given party tickets in the Vidhan Sabha election.
Mr.Gaur could not digest his ouster and during Vidhan Sabha election said openly if his family member – daughter in law Mrs.Krishna Gaur was not given ticket they both would contest the elections. His pressure tactics worked out well and Mrs.Krishna Gaur adjusted on his Govindpura seat of Bhopal.
Now he has declared that Congress has offered him the party candidature of Bhopal Lok Sabha seat and he had told them that he would consider. It during the swearing in ceremony of Chief Minister Mr.Kamal Nath the Congress President Mr.Rahul Gandhi urged Mr.Babulal Gaur to join Congress and at that time also he told him that he would consider it. Obviously the BJP leaderships should have not treated Mr.Babulal Gaur so shabbily on age ground. Age criteria is not applicable in public life. Mr.Gaur is playing his cards well to maintain his active life in politics.
