Two constables with the Nelamangala police were suspended and a departmental probe has been ordered over allegations that they sexually harassed two women earlier this month.
Senior police officials said that on January 4, constables Chennegowda and Sherief allegedly went to a lodge at Kunigal Circle in Nelamangala and raided all the rooms. They found two rooms occupied by couples.
“There are allegations that the duo fleeced the men and allegedly sexually harassed the women,” said a senior official. However, there was no complaint.
Sources said the two constables were warned and transferred out of the Crime Division.
B. Dayananda, IGP, Central Range, said that he has ordered a probe by a DSP rank officer and would take stern action if anybody is found guilty.
District police officials said they are trying to trace the two women and men in the lodge to record their statements.
