Ujjain: Unidentified thieves entered in an electronic showroom and other shops in ‘Harphul wali gali’ of Freeganj area after breaking the locks on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. They reportedly took away cash, mobile phones and other electronic items from the shops.
According to information, they first entered Ajanta Electronics after removing exhaust fan. Shop owner Dinesh, son of Punamchand Jain, informed that several mobile phones, cash and other electronic items were stolen from his shop. However, the number of stolen items and its value could not be ascertained and it will be known after checking the stock, he added. Similarly, owner of Mohit Collection of the same area informed that thieves entered his shop after breaking the locks and took away cash and other valuables from the shop.
Police check CCTV footages
On getting information, Madhav Nagar police reached at the spot with FSL experts. Police examined CCTV footages from the shops and found four persons entering the shop. However, their identity could not be established as the CCTV cameras were turned to other side. Dr Mujumdar also told the police that locks of his clinic were also found broken but nothing was stolen from there.
Security system alerts owner
Dinesh Jain told to the police that he had installed high security system in the shop which alerts him on phone if anything goes wrong in the shop. He was alerted by the system about the break-in. Jain soon reached at the shop in late night and later called the police.
Police recover laptop bags and Aadhaar card
During investigation, the police have recovered three laptop bags with an iron cutter and an Aadhaar card. Police have recorded statements of other shopkeepers and initiated investigation into the theft.
