Palace sign Brazilian 'keeper Perri on loan

2019-01-25 06:39

London - Crystal Palace have signed Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri on loan, the English Premier League club announced on Thursday.

The 21-year-old will join the south London side from Sao Paulo, with the Eagles having the option to make Perri's move to Selhurst Park permanent.

"It's an amazing feeling, I'm really glad to join the club. Two months ago, I knew (about) the possibility to join Palace," Perri told the club's website.

"Since then, I was pretty anxious to be here because I really wanted that. It's huge, it's a really important thing to me. It's the opportunity of my life and I'm going to do whatever it takes."

Injuries to Vicente Guaita and Wayne Hennessey saw Palace manager Roy Hodgson select the 39-year-old Julian Speroni in goal for a 4-3 loss away to league leaders Liverpool last weekend.
