HUDA land scam: CBI raids 20 places in Delhi, Chandigarh

New Delhi, The CBI on Friday morning conducted raids at more than 20 places, including at residences of former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in connection with the land scam case.

A team of CBI, reportedly from National Capital, reached early morning at the Model Town residence of Mr Hooda here to conduct a raid at his house. Mr Hooda was reportedly present at his residence at the time of raid.

The places where searches were conducted include, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Rohtak, Gurgaon and Mohali. Besides Huda, cases were also registered against an IAS officer TC Gupta who was earlier Chief Administrator HUDA and 15 private colonizers.

The probe agency took up the investigation on direction of the Supreme Court order on November 1, 2017.

The Apex court had directed for CBI investigation of land acquisition process (around 1,417 acres of land) held during the period 2009 to 2012 for Sectors-58 to 63 and 65 to 67 of Gurgaon.
