IMFL worth Rs 20 lakh seized; three held

RAJKOT: A total of 6,116 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL), worth Rs 20.37 lakh, were seized from a truck and three bootleggers arrested from Naranka village on the Rajkot-Padadhari Road in Rajkot district early morning on Thursday.


The accused were identified as Amarsinh Jat, a resident of Sirsa in Haryana, Mohanram Rajput, a resident of Dabhikheda in Rajasthan, and Priyank Mehta, a resident of Rajkot.


“We arrested the accused, following a tip-off. During interrogation, the accused said that the IMFL bottles had been supplied by a Haryana-based bootlegger, Lakhwindersinh from Fatehabad in Haryana and that it had been meant to be delivered to Rajkot-based bootlegger Harshad Mahajan,” said J M Chawda, sub-inspector of Rajkot local crime branch.
