PATIALA: The police have booked around 11 persons in a murder case of a local resident in Nabha around five days back. No arrests have been made yet by the city police for the murder.
The cops had confirmed that reason behind the murder was a tussle over the pigeon race which led the clash between two groups a few months back.
The police revealed that the attack on Billu Ram was allegedly plotted by the accused after both parties landed in a fray during pigeon race held in Nabha town of the district.
"The deceased Billu Ram of Nabha was attacked on Sunday evening when the accused had injured him by hitting on his head with an iron rod. Billu was admitted to government hospital of Sector 32 in Chandigarh from where he had survived coma but later succumbed to his injuries on Friday. The accused and deceased had landed in a tussle a few months back last year over pigeon race and then again only a week ago when they participated in pigeon race this year. The case was registered on the complaint of Billu’s uncle Lal Chand of Ram Nagar Basti", said a police.
A sister of the deceased said, "The police are not arresting the accused intentionally even we had handed over two accused to the police. The family members of the accused openly challenged us to kill Billu."
