The State Assembly will pass the four-month vote-on-account on the Budget on February 12. The Appropriation Bill too will be passed on the same day, according to Legislature Secretariat sources.
The House will not hold its sitting on January 29 since the Congress legislators have to attend the party’s convention in Kochi, which is to be addressed by AICC president Rahul Gandhi. As of now, the motion of thanks for the Governor’s address will be held on January 28 and 30 with the House holding an extended sitting. A decision to this effect was taken at the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly, it is learnt.
The Budget will be presented as scheduled, along with the three-day general discussion from February 4 to 6. The supplementary demands for grants for 2018-19 will be presented on February 7. The House will not hold a sitting on February 8.
