Bad start to the day for Australia. Marcus Harris is out on the fifth ball of the second day for 44. This is a massive opportunity squandered by the opener. He's hit a short and wide ball straight to the man at point. Paceman Lahiru Kumara gets the breakthrough for Sri Lanka.

Harris did all the hard yards the night before seeing off the new pink ball but just when you thought things would get easier for him he does this. The shot was there to be played - but he's failed to roll the wrists over to get the ball to ground. Australia 3/76 with a bit of work to do.

The game situation is perfectly set up for them and Sri Lanka do not exactly have a tearaway attack with a reputation of striking fear into opposition line-ups.

Joe Burns missed out last night but newcomers Marcus Harris, Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head and Kurtis Patterson should get their chances today or tomorrow. From a selectors' point of view, you'd be hoping Patterson gets to the crease later today because it will mean the other three are doing their jobs.
