On completing 20 months in office, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat Friday said the state government during this period has made efforts towards sustainable development and to deliver on the promises made to people.

He said investments worth Rs 10,300 crores have already arrived in Uttarakhand since the investors summit held in October last year and investments worth Rs 2,500 crores are in the pipeline.

"By the end of this financial year, we hope investments worth Rs 12,500 crore will have arrived on the ground in the state," Rawat said.

Work on major infrastructure projects like all weather road, Rishikesh-Karnaprayag and Roorkee-Deoband rail lines is going at great pace, he said.

He said 170 bridge construction projects have been sanctioned and 200 more will be cleared soon.

"By 2022, our need for constructing bridges will be completely fulfilled," he said, adding the Ajabpur flyover will be completed next month.

He said 16 policy changes have been made covering different sectors, including MSME, solar power, dry pine leaves (pirul) tourism, IT, Ayush and housing, keeping in mind the state's unique geographical situation to boost its economy.

The chief minister claimed that in 2018-19, the gross state domestic product in Uttarakhand was expected to be Rs 1,90,284 crore which was far more than the national average.

Listing the state government's achievements in the health sector, he said when the BJP government took over in 2017, only 1,123 doctors had been deployed in the state since its creation in year 2000 but the state government has deployed 1,137 doctors in just 17 months.

He said 35 hospitals in the state have been equipped with tele medicine, tele radiology and tele cardiology facilities and tele pathology facility is also likely to be launched soon.

Expeditious steps are being taken to ensure 100 per cent internet connectivity in Uttarakhand by July this year. As per 2012 baseline survey, all border villages of the state have been connected with electricity.

Bottlenecks have also been removed from the start of the long awaited Lakhwar-Vyasi and Kisau hydel projects, he said, adding the state government has taken initiatives for sustainable development of the state in the last 20 months.
