Cape Town - Selena Gomez is back on the music scene in a collaboration with singer/songwriter Julia Matthews.
The Back To You hitmaker has slowly made her way back into the spotlight after withdrawing from the public eye to focus on her mental health, including struggles with anxiety.
Julia on Thursday released a new track titled Anxiety, off her new EP called Inner Monologue Part I, with Selena on which they sing about what it’s like to live with the disorder.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 on Apple Music about the personal song, Julia said: “I basically was just like, ‘I kind of want to talk about these sort of things that I deal with on a daily basis.’”
Julia added that the song isn’t only about having anxiety, but also about “the fear of missing out and sort of wanting to do things but never actually, like, have the ability to go through with anything that you want to do.”
Revealing how she got Selena on board the 25-year-old said: “So, we wrote Anxiety and I sent it to Selena.
“And I was like, ‘I think I’'d be really awesome to have a song with two women on it that struggle with the same thing, that are talking about something other than two women fighting for a guy’s attention.’”
