Joanna Gaines is ready to celebrate the launch of her upcoming children’s book!

On Thursday, March 14, and Friday, March 15, the Fixer Upper star will be hosting “A Book Launch Event with Joanna Gaines,” in her family’s hometown of Waco, Texas, to toast the release of We Are the Gardeners.

During the event, Gaines — who welcomed her fifth child, son Crew, with her husband Chip in June — will sit down with TV host Samantha Ponder, to talk about her inspiration for the book and her experience writing it with help from her older sons Duke, 9, and Drake, 13, and daughters Emmie Kay, 8½, and Ella Rose, 12.

Tickets for the two-night event are on sale now  and will be free for children ages 0-3, $5 for children 4-12, $30 for adults (13+) who do not want to receive a copy of the book, and $45 for adults who want a copy of the book. The event, which will take place after hours at the Gaines’s retail compound the Silos, is part of the Magnolia’s Spring at the Silos program.

For Gaines, the book was her family’s “way of sharing what the garden means to us, and the many adventures we’ve had along the way!”

She explains, “The garden has always been a place that inspires me. There’s something about digging deep into fresh soil or watching new life burst from what was not long ago just a tiny seed that reinforces what a gift life is. I think that’s part of why my kids have come to love spending time in the garden just as much as I do.”

The self-proclaimed “plant lady” has long been passionate about gardening and spending time outdoors with her Chip and their kids.

“It can be a great teacher, if we pause long enough to notice all there is to learn,” she says of their garden. “Where every day can be a lesson in hard work, and sometimes even in failure, but where there’s also growth worth celebrating.”
