THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The nine-day budget session will begin with the governor's address in the assembly on Friday and finance minister T M Thomas Isaac will present the budget on January 31.
The session, in which three days each are allotted for motion of thanks for governor's address and for brief discussions on 2019-20 budget, will conclude on February 7.
However, unlike last year or as planned earlier, the government will not be able to pass the full budget by March 31, as the notification for Lok Sabha polls are expected to be issued in between, speaker P Sreeramakrishnan told reporters on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the 'Constitution literacy campaign' being organized by the assembly for the past two months with the support of the State Literacy Mission will conclude with a state-level awareness rally and public meet on Saturday, which will be attended by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
As part of its 'Festival of Democracy' programme, the assembly will also conduct 'Youth Parliament' in Thiruvananthapuram from February 23 to 25.
