Child labourer rescued
TNN | Jan 26, 2019, 04:06 ISTMangaluru: A 13-year-old boy was rescued from a canteen at Maryhill, where he worked as a child labourer, on Thursday.
A member of ChildLine said they received a tip-off from an unidentified person who called the Childline-1098 helpline informing about the same. The ChildLine team then went to Surya Canteen at Maryhill and found the 13-year-old boy hailing from Bagalakot working there. He was rescued, produced before the District Child Welfare Committee, and later sent to a rehabilitation centre.
Public are asked to inform about such child labourers by calling the ChildLine helpline.
