Ahead of ‘Jayaho BC’, he says no force can stop TDP as long as they supported it

Ahead of the Jayaho BC in Rajahmundry on January 27, Chief Minister and TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday tried to strike a chord with the Backward Classes (BCs) saying, “No force on the earth can stop the TDP as long as the BCs supported it.”

At a meeting with the BC leaders at the Grievance Hall near his residence, he said the BCs had been the backbone of the TDP for the last 36 years and did not desert it during the turbulent years. As thanksgiving gesture, the government spent ₹40,000 crore during the last four years on many schemes for their welfare. It reintroduced the Aadarana-II as the previous governments discontinued the one launched by the TDP government in the combined AP, he said.

The previous government hardly took measures for the welfare of the BCs for the simple reason that they were supporters of the TDP. The BCs were suppressed fearing that the TDP would gain strength. The other political parties too had no concern for the BCs. Though the State was reeling under deficit budget, the pension amount was doubled. In the next five years, the TDP would focus on the welfare of those who supported it. It would stand by the BCs until justice was done to them and their income levels increased.

The TDP president said leaders of 30 BC associations attended the meeting and submitted their representations. The State government would discuss the justifiable demands and take a decision during the Jayaho BC Sadassu, he said.
