Says her journey will go on till Governor signs off on release

Arputhammal, mother of Perarivalan, one of the convicts in the case relating to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination, said on Thursday that her journey seeking justice for the convicts will continue until Governor Banwarilal Purohit signs off on their release.

She was speaking at an event to kick-start the “#28yearsenoughgovernor” campaign. Having launched the movement in Coimbatore, Ms. Arputhammal plans to visit Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Krishnagiri, Villupuram, Tiruchi, Madurai, Tirunelveli and Puducherry and conduct meetings to elicit public opinion.

Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam leader K. Ramakrishnan, lawyer Sivakumar and writer Pamaran took part in the launch of the campaign.
