Three quacks arrested in Rajkot

RAJKOT: Three quacks were arrested from Manharpur, Navagam and Anandpar Baghi villages on the outskirts of Rajkot in the past 24 hours for allegedly practising without medical degrees.


On Thursday morning, Prakash Vyas (47), a resident of Shantinagar in Raiyadhar locality of Rajkot, was nabbed from Manharpur. “He was found to be practising without any medical degree. We seized medicines worth Rs 5,360 from his clinic,” said an official from Rajkot special operation group (SOG).


The second arrest was made in Navagam where Vijay Jotangia (35) was arrested for allegedly practising without a medical degree. Police recovered medicines worth Rs 4,080 from his clinic.


The third accused, Lalji Chauhan (23), a resident of Kothariagam in Rajkot, was arrested from his clinic in Anandpar Baghi village. “We arrested Chauhan and seized medicines worth Rs 8,900 from his clinic,” said the SOG official.


In the past one week, a total of five quacks have been arrested in Rajkot.
