Police and SES teams are searching bushland near Rockingham for a father missing overnight.

Sean Trainor's vehicle was discovered parked in the Rockingham Lakes National Park carpark in Karnup around 8pm Wednesday night.

Police searches and the RAC helicopter, using heat-sensing technology, failed to locate the 47-year-old overnight.

Police and family have concerns for Mr Trainor's welfare and are urging anyone in the vicinity of the area who may have seen him, or his grey Honda CRV, to call police.
