Bhopal: A 35-year-old woman was crushed while her husband and 7-year-old son had a narrow escape after a speeding truck rammed into their two-wheeler near Savarkar over-bridge under Habibganj police station on Tuesday late night. According to police, the incident occurred at around 11 pm near Ganesh Temple when 35-year-old Nayab Jahan, riding pillion, got crushed under the wheels of a truck whereas her husband Riyaz aka Bablu Ali and son Ziyan escaped with injuries after being thrown of the two-wheeler.

The woman was a resident of Shahjehanabad area. On Tuesday, they went they were returning from Mandideep after attending Haldi ceremony at a relative’s home. Near Habibganj Naka, their two-wheeler was hit by a truck bearing a regiteration number plate MP-06-HC-1469 which claimed life of the woman. After the accident, truck driver fled the spot.
The truck was later seized by the police and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. A case under Section 304-A of the IPC has been registered against the absconding truck driver and search for the errant truck driver has been intensified with the help of registration number of truck whereas the body of deceased woman was handed over to the family members after post-mortem examination.
