After being embroiled in controversies and being suspended for their sexist comments on a celebrity talk show, Committee of Administrators (CoA) has lifted the suspension on Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul.

A press release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India said: "The above matter and decision has been taken with the concurrence of the Learned Amicus Curiae, Mr PS Narasimha. In view of the above, the suspension orders dated 11.01.2019 is immediately lifted pending appointment and adjudication of the allegations by the BCCI Ombudsman."

The apex court has listed the matter tentatively for 5 February. Pandya is likely to join the Indian team in New Zealand after an interim relief while Rahul might play in either domestic circuit or be part of India A team in the ongoing home series against England Lions.

While CoA member Diana Edulji wanted the BCCI to be involved, CoA chief Vinod Rai dismissed the suggestion as it would have been in violation of the Board constitution.

The CoA said the decision to suspend the two players was taken under "Rule 46 of the approved BCCI Constitution".

BCCI acting president CK Khanna was the first to request the players to continue playing while the investigation is on.
