Mangaluru: Bantwal police nab teenagers for assault, robbery

MANGALURU: Personnel of Bantwal town police station on Thursday nabbed two persons in connection with assaulting and robbing a cell phone from the complainant Praveen.

The incident took place on the flood relief road on October 7, 2018 when the accused Siraj, 19, of Pudu village in Bantwal taluk, and Shakeer, 18, also of Pudu village in the taluk, who came in a car, assaulted Praveen and decamped with his cell phone. Police recovered Praveen’s cell phone worth Rs 25,000 from the accused and seized the car they used to commit the crime, superintendent of police B M Laxmi Prasad, said.


THREE YOUTHS NABBED


Mangaluru City police on Thursday nabbed three youths on charges of consuming ganja at Kulshekar chowki at Padavu village. The accused are Jithin, 25, resident of Kulshekar, Mohith Kumar, 27 of Neerumarga, and Gururaj, 25 of Moodushedde, Vamanjoor.


A case has been lodged against the trio under NDPS Act at Kankanady Town Police Station, city police commissioner T R Suresh, said.
