PATNA: Winter has revived in its last lap in the state with rainfall witnessed in many parts on Wednesday. The local Met office also reported trace showers in Patna in the early morning hours.
The showers were broadly concentrated in north Bihar, including Gaunaha (7.4mm), Bagaha (6) and Chanpatia (4.2) in West Champaran. The weather also turned windy as easterly winds blew up to 16kmph.
Patna Meteorological Centre officials claimed that cloudy and rainy weather will continue to prevail in the state till January 25. They also predicted rain, thunderstorm and dust storm in Patna on Friday and Saturday as well.
The overcast weather conditions will also lead to plunge in the mercury column along with foggy mornings, which has been almost negligible in the winter season this year.
Weathermen attributed the prevailing wet spell to a western disturbance which was passing through the foothill of the Himalayas. A Met official said, “Another western disturbance is likely to hit the state which will lead to continuation of the overcast weather conditions till January 25.”
