Michael Schumacher’s Jordan F1 Car Costs $4,495 On A 1:8 Scale

If you happen to be a Formula 1 historian and a collector of replica scale models, then this #32 Jordan 191 1:8 scale model race car should be of interest to you. The only downside? It costs a whooping $4,495.

The car sits on a 24″ x 14″ base, featuring a serialized metal name plate. Its paint scheme is an authentic electric blue and green combo, and according to ACME Trading, every “bolt, seam and cockpit configuration are crafted exactly as the car that took the field as Spa.”

Features include a fully rendered cockpit complete with cloth seat belts, suspension detailing and rubber tires, among others. The attention to detail is quite impressive, then again, it darn right better be at such a high price.

The real 191 racer was designed by Gary Anderson and built by Jordan Grand Prix. It came with a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, double wishbone suspension and a Cosworth Ford HB V8 engine.

As for who actually got to drive it back then, well, multiple famous drivers come to mind, such as Bertrand Gachot, Roberto Moreno and Alex Zanardi. The biggest name however was Michael Schumacher, who made his Formula 1 debut at the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa behind the wheel of Jordan’s #32 car.

During that weekend, the German driver qualified seventh on the grid, but unfortunately failed to finish the race.

The 1991 #32 Jordan 191 1:8 scale model will go on sale this spring and only 99 units will be made available.
