It was back in 2012 that Alia Bhatt first found herself on the cover of Vogue India, just a month before she had the world falling in love with her character in her debut Bollywood movie, Student of the Year. Doused in roses as a demure debutante, Bhatt spoke out about not just her entrance into India’s film industry, but also her family and her childhood. One of her most memorable confessions from the interview? “Growing up, I would sneak into films at Gaiety cinema, and I even cut my hair like Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. I’m not much of a reader, but I know everything about Bollywood.”

2014: Alia Bhatt’s all-grown-up pictures

Just months after Bhatt’s film Highway hit theatres, the actor featured in a Vogue India shoot that showed her in an all-new light.
